Harper's Bazaar: A Decade of Style Photo Exhibition

Last week I visited the International Center of Photography in New York to specifically see Harper's Bazar's Photo Exhibition. At first ...(and as I exited the exhibition), the room with HB's photographs seemed very small - I imagined it'd have walls and walls of the spectacular work the magazine features monthly. That was my only disappointment, because I can never get enough of beautiful photography, fashion, and well-directed/styled/propped editorials.

Preview: Marni for H&M Collaboration

photos via fashionologie
Now this is a collaboration worth talking! I love Marni (own 0 Marni pieces) and I love H&M (own  256,864 H&M pieces). This is a collection that will mostly definitely be worth taking out my camping chair from the "camping stuff" reserves and nicely placing it outside the H&M store at 9PM before the next day's store opening. Kidding of course, I'd come at 7AM :) (And that's another lie).
I am loving Consuelo Castiglioni's green pants on the picture above, I hope something like that will be in her H&M line.
For all the H&M monster-fanatics -- this collection will hit 260 stores worldwide on March 8th, 2012. Oh, isn't a great gift on the International Woman's Day?

And that is what the creative minded Castiglioni says about her collection:
"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," explains Consuelo Castiglioni. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements."
According to the collection's press release: "For women, the colors are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler color blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. For men, the colors and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics."

Betsey Johnson at Plaza Hotel

don't you just love how me Bestsey coordinate with colour & stripes?
...and don't you just love that lady's gaze in the right corner?
...or a face expression of a lady behind BJ? In reality, she looked very pretty!
Today, November 28, 2011,  was yet another cool day in my NYC life - me and Eli met Betsey Johnson at the Plaza Hotel.
Betsey was such a sweetheart, she chatted up my little energy ball, complimented both of us by calling me beautiful and telling that E will be the next Scarlett Johanson. It felt great not to feel overwhelmed and scared by a very famous person (designer).
The reason Betsey was at the Plaza today is because she was the one to light up a Christmas tree in the main lobby that she decorated in collaboration with Eloise, girls' children store. The tree looked very cute; every little girl's dream !
My E is too little to understand the wholesome concept of the Christmas Tree yet - she mostly sees it as bunch of objects on the tree that she can tag, pull, roll, bang, and carry around
By the way, I thought it was amusing how BJ used red frilly undies as her Christmas hat. That's one very cool designer-trendsettler! - I secretly hope wearing panties on the head will be a new trend next season :)

Citrusgination

Lena, are you jealous? I am asking you again: "Are you?" Or are you simple overwhelmed with so much citrus yellow worn in this picture at once that perhaps you will want to give me throw out all your awesome citrus clothes ?
Dear readers, you probably recognize my top from the post below. Yes, yes, I wore it yet again in the past 3 days. The awesome wallet you see I spotted and just could't let go at Bergdorft Goodman Urban Outfitters (not Urban Behaviour, dear Canadians :)). I love a combination of gold, faux diamonds, and citrus yellow. Love it moderation of course, because I don't want my outfit look like it's been styled by Versace - if you know what I mean.

Candice Swanepoel for Rag & Bone DIY Project

My favourite Victoria Secret model Candice Swanopoel poses for Rag & Bone DIY Project.
The shoot features simple "American combination" - a tee and jeans, or just jeans, or just a t-shirt, which is not very american, ha. Do you ever wonder or think of the obvious, that if a person has a fookable-looking body and inherited beautiful genes - everything will look great on them and they can make anything look fashionable and worth buying? Yes, I am talking to you Candice, you beautiful, gorgeous, perfect woman! :) ps. Yet by looking at those pictures, I realize that VS swimsuits and bras are 100% boost-bust-worthy, hehe

Smarty Pants

This is my not official outfit post. You know I am still trying to learn the cool blogger poses?
Please erase the sleeve that is sticking out of the jacket, it came out on its own :) Ha, so those are the red jeans I finally bought after dreaming since summer about having perfect pair of red skinny jeans. Love them to pieces!

Gaga Workshop at Barney New York & Barney's Window Displays

Yes, yes yes, you got it right - I was being a faux paparazzi, but it was not completely intentional. When I was passing by the Barneys today, I saw the Lady Gaga Workshop installations, window displays, as well as many NYPD cars and young men wearing somewhat frisky outfits - I knew something Gaga-ish was going to happen tonight. And it did, Lady Gaga was presenting her Workshop tonight, November 21, 2011, at Barneys New York. I was lucky to snap a few shots of the queen of monster fans while standing in wide age, class-ranged crowd-cloud. After Miss Gaga did the ribbon cutting ceremony in the breathtaking 19th century inspired Chanel dress, she went back to the Barneys for a party/presentation/workshop.
New York City is just amazing for events like that, they are happening almost daily. I hope that new time that I come I will able to attend one of the great events in NY. Cheerios, ga ga ga ga ga ga!
BARNEYS WINDOWS: Did you think I will ever stop posting window displays? Noooo :) In fact, I was thinking of creating a blog dedicated only to window displays. Please don't even think of stealing my grandiose idea, because I am trademarking it as I write :) Beside the point, I adore Gaga-windows! Especially, the Gaga's Boudoir window. How cool is this room that is made entirely of hair? That is innovation! Allright, I am getting a bit carried away here, and you know why?  Because, I was born this way, baby! (hear a partial sarcasm?)
