The Pink Panther

A few days ago I made a fabulous men-repelling or even people-repelling purchase : a hot pink blazer. 
I love it to bits and cannot wait to wear it and blind people with its neon-ess. By the way, my life partner (aka my husband) suggests I throw it away. What do you think?

Fishy Business

New York Memorandum: As I was coming back home from having a look at regular, tall, with a million of  lights, nothing special Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Plaza - my eyes got instantly vacuumed to the well-polished window glass of the Eden Fine Art store on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. FYI, the store was closed - otherwise I'd come in and touch every little art in the store just to get kindly yelled by a sales associate. 

My favourite art they had was a flowing group of fish and sea creatures. I often think of trying to re-create that at home, but you know how often I think of re-creating something and how all these thoughts have an eternal nap in my brain.

I am late...
No, not in that way - my male blog readers :) I am late posting this particular post due to being busy moving back to Toronto, packing, unpacking, going to cottage (which also includes packing & unpacking awesome activity), catching up with 40% of friends, preparing for a gazillion holidays, and many more blog- writing- interrupting activities.
Remember my excitement over seeing Gaga Machine, extraordinary Gaga window displays and Barneys and seeing Gaga Workshop ribbon cutting mini ceremony at Barneys. ?
Well, so while in New York, Barney's opened Lady Gaga's Workshop on the 5th floor of the store in November 2011, meaning the whole floor was entirely dedicated to the Mother Monster. Let me tell you, the installations  at the store were very cool; something that I've only seen while browsing through pictures from the Burning Man festival. Yet, more colourful. I visited that floor about 3 times ...I was looking for something...was looking for something (looks away).
The array of merchandise consisted of about 40 different pieces that included assorted baked goods with Gaga's face or ornaments, t-shirts, baby onesies, keychains, glasses, make-up, nail art, tea cups, "Gaga"-snowball, stickers, books, tote bags, head pieces, etc. The prices for these monster goods were on the above of what I'd pay level, meaning quality vs. price wasn't great. Basically dollar store stuff with Gaga's emblems. I just got a keychain for my lovely sister, who is a Gagaga's fan.
25% of sales on the "paw" floor will be donated to the "Born This Way" foundation.
Workshop will be at Barneys until mid January 2012, I believe. So, hurry up to check this wonderful playhouse of Gaga while your stay in New York. I am sure it will be a mega interesting unknown- to- your- usual- tourists tourist activity.

Printed Miraculousness

Did you think that this was a new Versace ad? Pardon moi to disappoint you - but it's not. The good news is that each individual item in every outfit posted above has a fantastic print. I often think to myself of how great it'd be to be able to dress head-to-toe in prints flawlessly wear only mixed prints with no solids (ah, this word now makes me think of food as I have a 15 month old). I still have to work my courage through that, plus who'd care and see it now? 80% of the time we hide under the cabbage layered coats during these freaking arctic cold days anyways. 

On that note, or jsyk (just so you know), I want to express my admiration to the Nicola Knels and Lynn Schmidt- the stylists of this photoshoot for creating a beautiful mosaic of outfits, and photographer Greg Kadel for capturing all this spectaculousness. Compliment to rocking these looks to Carola Remer will be as cliche as calling Paris, New York and Milan fashion capitals of the world. So, basically you get the idea? Yes, she'd look great even if she were dressed in kale leaves.

Okay....I like those photos too much, I guess I have to pick up a German copy of January 2012 Vogue now, tear the magazine, frame them, and abuse my walls.

I cannot take my eyes of Mira's beautifully tailored dress. I love her chamelion-ability in the fashion world: one day she is a hippie, another day she is a cute school girl, then she is a chic trendsetter, and by the evening she is a classy with a twist elegant lady. Way to earn how to chameleonize yourselves, ladies! :)

Peter Callesen is the magician of the masterpieces you've just seen. I am a big fun of his work and love the concept in every one of his projects. Peter mostly creates his work using regular white A4 paper; he feels that way he connects to everybody, since we are all using this type of paper daily. 

Mr.Callesen's creations are mostly feature tragedy or romance in his "paper stories". Nonetheless, tragedy has never looked as astonishing as it is in Peter's cut-out stories. 

Now I want to try a DIY one of those beautiful pieces! Thought I am afraid I'd need a major re-charge of nerve cells every 15 minutes while working on such an intricate art piece.
