Mad Men Party: Betty Draper Inspired

Mad Men Party: Betty Draper Inspired

I am very excited to be {hopefully} attending my friend's Mad Men themed birthday party... I might bring my lovely toddler to sleep in their house if I have to. Just joking, so put your eyeballs back where they belong.
I am a huge fan of the show; especially the fashion in it. I understand that this isn't a novice statement to be made by a female. The great thing-ming about the female fashion in the show is that the stylist dressed 3 main female characters differently: Betty Draper- cute, neat, elegant, Joan Harris - sexy, savvy, curve-shaping, and Peggy Olson - preppy, modest, strict. My favourite fashion character is Betty Draper. She is very feminine, sexy, neat and just sharp-looking - a real lady. I adore the full mid 50s- 60s full dresses and skirts, lace, collar-ed tops, pearls and cute shoes Betty tastefully wears.
Above is my inspiration board of what I would were if I were Mrs.Draper - yet this board does not include the biggest accessory - Donald Draper. Ummm....Or perhaps I will tag to the party my other fictional screen crush - Chuck Bass (in the late seasons). Chuck, Chuck Bass. Who said that imaginary friends are not invited?
PS. Many S/S 2012 collections featured Mad Men inspiration. I guess designers were fashion-impressed by the show as well as the usual MM audience.

My Styling Portfolio Circa 2008

It has been a while since I have worked on a creative photoshoot, which brought me back into the old times memories. I found these great photos that I styled using my wardrobe and pieces I made of my friend Olga photographed by Miss Natasha Rodina back in 2008.

This shoot is still probably my the most favourite of all shoots that I've worked on. That is when Nataliya Smirnova {ummm, who is that? ;)} was in dreams of becoming a stylist or a fashion designer yet ditched it for a full time job. Oh well, Toronto will have to wait a bit more for this wonderful girl to get back in her styling shoes.

Have a look at my mini portfolio and tell me what you think!
PS. Most of the clothes in this shoot were created Ms. Mrs. Nataliya Smirnova. Yaaaaa!

Taylor Tomasi Hill: Apartment Story

photos via vogue.com
So, finally all of you get to meet my long lost sister, Taylor Tomasi Hill, who lives in Chelease, NYC.
We never got to meet, because you know - she lives in NYC and is always busy, and so am I ... except the fact that I live in Toronto. On top of that, both of us are just too "red-head cool" to meet up.
Okay okay, I kid I kid. Taylor and I are not related {as if you believed me}. She is just my new style crush.
I adore her sleek, yet very creative & fun fashion style. Of course, Hill's vibrant red hair and pale skin make me think of myself and how I shouldn't look forward to burning my skin in order to get a little tan, but instead enjoy my albino-ness.
Aside from Taylor admiration, let's go into discussing her orgasmic apartment. Before seeing those pictures first, I always imagined that TTH's apartment would be creative in a way like no other; I knew it would have spectacular decor with many twists.
I was right...BAM!!!
Her kitchen is my favourite along with the bedroom. I am a big fan of little details, colour, and nostalgia pieces. These pieces have so much character and tell us owner's story.
TTH's dining are is definitely something to wow about, but I am not quite a fan. The duckling on the side table stole my heart - I would love those for myself to hang out on my dining table.
